What is your favorite Elvis Presley song?

Hello, I'm blogging with author Mimi Barbour

For those of you who are new to Mimi Barbour’s books here is a short bio. Mimi took early retirement to spend her days and many nights hovering over her computer to spin stories that have been vying for her attention over the years. She tells me her husband is supportive and feeds her and even plans occasional forays into the outside world. She has a son who makes her happy she was born a woman so she could be his mom. Gardening lights her inner fires, and she needs no urging to get out into the yard when the weather dictates. Other hobbies beckon, such as quilting, crocheting, but alas when the computer entices she has no time. Her books include the Vegas Series and Angels with an Attitude Series.

Hi Mimi, I’m so glad you could stop by to talk about your Elvis contest.

Mimi Barbour

Please tell us about it.

After I listened to an old Elvis Presley hit called She’s Not You, I couldn’t get the words out of my head. Finally, it came to me. The sentiments were so beautiful that the story they told should be written. So, I wrote the first chapter and the song stopped haunting me. I released book #1 of the Elvis Series late in November 2013.
When it came time to decide which of Elvis’s song should be chosen for Book #2, I decided who better than the readers themselves to make the choice.

“Make an Elvis song into a book contest!”

Here it is live for the whole month of February.

Please let all your friends know about it!

Tell your mom and her pals who grew up with the King!

Share this link with your Facebook buddies and twitter followers.

It'll be fun to see which of his songs will grace the cover of

Book #2 in Mimi Barbour’s

Elvis series.

Here’s what the winner will receive:

1.    The winner will have his/her favorite song chosen as the title and theme for the next book in the Elvis series.
2.    It will be dedicated to the winner.
3.    And their name will be used for one of the characters.

Thanks Mimi. Good luck with the contest.
By the way according to several places on the net, Elvis Presley recorded between 699 and 711 songs.

  1. Hi Reggi, It's lovely of you to have me here to tell people about my Elvis "Make a Song a Book" contest. The winner's song will be chosen as the title and I can't wait to find out what the next novel in the series will be. Since I write romance, I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's not 'Old Shep' or 'Blue Suede Shoes'!! LOL

    2. Hi Linda, thank you for the lovely comment. I know what you mean about just one. I've been doing some research - listening to many of his songs and I could write a book about almost all of those wonderful tunes. But which will it be??? And how many of the songs will be the same? Guess that could be Book #3.... lightbulb!!! :-)

  6. Hey Mimi,
Glad I found you on this blog. My mom's favorite Elvis song is Love Me Tender. So I guess it would get my vote too. I'll check out your books.
